Most digital work does not fail because of technology.

It fails because decisions, ownership, and delivery are not aligned.

I work embedded alongside leadership teams. Typically for three to twelve months, to name what is blocking progress and build the conditions for delivery. The work is structural and organisational, not technical. The goal is a direction the organisation can sustain after I leave.

Digital strategy and direction

Most organisations have a direction. Several, in fact. The work is to find which one holds up when examined, and to make it usable enough that it actually guides decisions.

  • direction is unclear or fragmented
  • roadmaps exist, but do not guide decisions
  • business goals and technical reality are not aligned

A strategy that no one questions is not clarity. It is just a document no one reads carefully enough to disagree with.

Product and platform development

Strategy without delivery is a presentation. I work at the point where ideas need to become systems.

  • new digital initiatives need to scale
  • existing platforms need to evolve without disrupting delivery
  • product ownership and responsibilities are unclear

What usually breaks is not the idea. It is the point where the idea had to become someone's job.

Change that holds

Good solutions stall when ownership and coordination break down. The work is not the plan. It is making the plan hold in an organisation that was not designed for it.

  • many stakeholders are involved
  • mandates are unclear
  • good solutions stall in implementation

The focus is not the workshop. It is the week after, when the usual pressures return.

  1. I pause and evaluate.
  2. I do not present neutral options.
  3. I name the real blocker.
  4. Clear ownership beats perfect models.
  5. Progress matters more than polish.
  6. If something cannot be explained simply, it is not ready to be executed.
